“Fire, Don’t Suspend. Clean Up The Mess Now,” Orator Dunn Tells Pres. Boakai

Monrovia, Liberia – In a bold and impassioned call for action in pursuit of public sector accountability, Liberia’s 178th Independence Day Orator, Rev. Ambassador Emmett L. Dunn, has urged President Joseph N. Boakai to go beyond temporary suspensions and take decisive steps to address corruption and inefficiency in the public sector.

“Fire, don’t suspend. Clean up this mess now!” Rev. Dunn declared during his national address, drawing loud applause from the attendees. He emphasized that public institutions exist to serve the people, not to enrich a few individuals.

Public sectors are for the public, not for the pockets,” he added, striking a chord with many Liberians frustrated by ongoing reports of financial mismanagement and abuse of public trust.

Rev. Dunn’s remarks have since resonated widely across the country and in public discourse, with many citizens commending his courage and echoing his call for real accountability. The orator’s statement has sparked a renewed national debate on the urgent need for government reform and transparency.

As President Boakai’s administration navigates mounting public pressure, all eyes remain on how the government will respond to these growing calls for decisive leadership and systemic cleanup.
