Gbarnga, Bong County – His Honor Boima Kontoe, the Resident Judge of the 9th Judicial Circuit Court, has formally called for establishing six additional magisterial courts in Bong County. This initiative, according to him, aims to enhance access to justice for residents and alleviate the burden on the current judicial system.
Delivering his charge during the formal opening of the August A.D. Term of Court in Gbarnga on Monday, August 11, 2025, Judge Kontoe emphasized that expanding the number of magisterial courts is essential for delivering timely justice, particularly in rural communities where limited access has been a significant barrier.
“With more magisterial courts across the county, we can ensure that judicial services are brought closer to the people, leading to a more efficient legal process,” Judge Kontoe remarked.
He also used the medium to call on the Bong County Legislative Caucus, led by Senator Prince Moye, and the County Superintendent Loleyah Hawa Norris, urging them to prioritize and support this crucial initiative. Judge Kontoe underscored the importance of their backing in making this vision a reality for the residents of Bong County.
Currently, Bong County is served by nine magisterial courts, and the addition of six more would be seen as a pivotal step towards improving the judicial landscape in the region.
