‎Former CDC Lawmaker Solomon George Slams Ex-Finance Minister Samuel Tweah, Labels Him a “Reincarnated Criminal”

‎‎In a harsh public outburst, former Montserrado County Representative Solomon George has launched strong accusations against former Finance and Development Planning Minister Samuel D. Tweah, labeling him a “criminal reincarnated” and blaming him for the downfall of the former ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in the 2023 elections.

‎Speaking on a local television program in Monrovia on Monday, George, a former staunch member of the CDC who resigned from the party in February this year, did not hold back in his criticism of key figures within the previous administration.

‎“Samuel Tweah is a criminal. He was one of the diseases within the CDC that contributed to our defeat,” George said during the broadcast. “He is a criminal reincarnated. Even in his first life, second, and third, he is a criminal.”

‎George, who served as a Representative for over a decade, accused Tweah of misleading former President George Weah, claiming that despite his own repeated advice to the former president, Weah continued to listen to Tweah.

‎The outspoken former lawmaker also took aim at Senator Nathaniel McGill of Margibi County, another influential figure from the Weah administration, alleging that McGill engaged in selling government positions to unqualified individuals.

‎“McGill used to sell jobs, even to people who were not competent,” George stated. “Even up to now, he owes people, mostly at the Ministry of Public Works.”

‎McGill, a former Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, was sanctioned by the United States Treasury Department in 2022 for alleged corruption and misuse of public office.

‎George’s explosive remarks reflect deepening divisions within the CDC and growing criticisms of the party’s leadership, following its loss in the 2023 presidential runoff to opposition candidate Joseph N. Boakai.

‎Neither Samuel Tweah nor Nathaniel McGill has publicly responded to George’s allegations at the time of this publication.
