Monrovia, Liberia – The Ministry of Education has officially announced the opening of applications for the Government of Liberia Local Scholarship Program for the 2025/2026 academic year. The application process will commence on August 20, 2025, and is open to eligible students across all 15 counties of Liberia.
According to the Ministry, scholarship application forms can be obtained and submitted at two key locations: the Division of Scholarships at the Ministry of Education and the offices of the County Education Officers (CEOs) in each of the 15 counties.
The scholarships are merit-based, with strict academic requirements. Applicants must maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above to qualify and remain in the program. Current recipients who meet this academic threshold will continue to benefit from the scholarship.
The Ministry emphasized its commitment to equitable education access, encouraging female students and students with disabilities to apply. “The Government of Liberia remains dedicated to ensuring all students, regardless of background or ability, have access to educational opportunities,” the statement read.
The deadline for submitting completed applications is September 10, 2025.
