23 Liberian Journalists Begin 14-Day Media Training in China

Twenty-three Liberian journalists have begun a 14-day media communication training programme in China aimed at strengthening professional capacity and promoting media cooperation between the two countries.

The seminar, which commenced Wednesday, is organized by the Research and Training Institute of China’s National Radio and Television Administration.

The programme provides participants with an opportunity to exchange professional experiences, learn about China’s media environment and explore approaches to media communication that could inform journalism practice in Liberia.

The delegation’s participation also underscores growing opportunities for international engagement and professional development within Liberia’s media sector.

Organizers and the Chinese government have been acknowledged for facilitating the training, with appreciation extended to the Chinese Ambassador to Liberia for supporting the opportunity.

However, the programme’s real value will ultimately depend on how participants apply the knowledge gained to strengthen reporting, improve newsroom practices and promote responsible journalism upon their return.

Over the next two weeks, the journalists are expected to engage in activities designed to broaden their professional perspectives and build connections with media practitioners in China.

The training is expected to contribute to continued media exchange between Liberia and China, with participants carrying the responsibility of translating the experience into practical benefits for Liberia’s media industry.
