Monrovia, Liberia — Five outstanding Liberian professionals have been selected for the prestigious 2025–2026 Irish-Liberian Opportunity Fellowship, a fully funded scholarship Programme supported by the Government of Ireland through its Department of Foreign Affairs.
The fellowship offers early-to-mid-career professionals from eligible African countries the chance to pursue a master’s degree in Ireland in areas aligned with their professional roles and national development priorities.
Among the selected fellows is Sam K. Flomo Jr., Finance Manager at the Liberian Women Empowerment Network (LIWEN), who will pursue a Master of Science in Financial Analytics at Dublin Business School.
Rebecca Sandralyn Brewer, Coordinator of the Technical Center of Excellence at the Ministry of Justice, will study for a Master of Science in Cybersecurity at the National College of Ireland in Dublin.
N. Paul J. Hinneh, Chief of Staff and Technical Focal Point in the Office of the Commissioner General at the Liberia Revenue Authority, will undertake a Master of Laws (LLM) in Business Law at University College Cork.
George M. Sherman, Assistant Director of the Information & Communications Technology Unit at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, is set to pursue a Master of Science in Cybersecurity at Dublin Business School.
Mulubah D. Lamah, Acting Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Manager at the Forestry Development Authority, will study for a Master of Science in Data Analytics, also at Dublin Business School.
The Irish-Liberian Opportunity Fellowship covers all expenses including tuition fees, travel costs, accommodation, monthly living stipends, visas, and other study-related costs. The program typically spans 10 to 16 months.
This initiative forms part of Ireland’s broader commitment to fostering sustainable development and capacity-building in partner countries, particularly in Africa.
The fellows are expected to return to Liberia upon completion of their studies to contribute their enhanced skills and knowledge to national development efforts.
