SUAKOKO, Bong County — The Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI) has concluded a major research seminar at its headquarters in Suakoko, Bong County, bringing together agricultural researchers to showcase recent findings and technologies aimed at boosting farming and agricultural productivity across Liberia.
The seminar served as a platform for CARI researchers to present their latest innovations and findings designed to directly benefit farmers nationwide.
Multiple research projects and studies were presented during the four-day event, which opened on Tuesday and concluded on Friday, September 3, 2026.
Speaking at the official opening on Tuesday, CARI Director General Dr. Arthur Bob Karnuah emphasized the importance of the seminar, noting that farmers are the primary beneficiaries of the institute’s research and technological developments.
Dr. Karnuah highlighted CARI’s vital role in advancing agricultural productivity and strengthening national food security, stressing that the institute must fully execute its mandate to support the government’s ARREST Agenda.
Reaffirming his commitment to organizational growth, Dr. Karnuah stated that his administration will not relent in its vision to position CARI as a premier agricultural research institution in West Africa.
As Liberia’s sole national agricultural research body, CARI is tasked with conducting applied and adaptive research to develop new agricultural techniques. Its work aims to equip local farmers with improved practices that enhance crop yield, elevate food security, and drive national agricultural development.
The seminar offered stakeholders a vital opportunity to examine emerging technologies and strategize on effectively transferring research findings to farmers across the country.
