ZWEDRU, GRAND GEDEH – Security personnel assigned to the Tubman Palace, the official residence of the Grand Gedeh County Superintendent, are reportedly planning a “go-slow” action to protest more than ten months of unpaid salary arrears.
Multiple inside sources speaking to Verity News on conditions of anonymity indicate that the personnel are preparing to deliberately slow down their duties as a measure of expressing their grievances over the prolonged non-payment.
Local Officials Intervened
In a related development, other sources suggest that local county officials have allegedly intervened in an effort to cancel the planned action. The swift intervention is reportedly motivated by concerns that a security “go-slow” at the Superintendent’s home would constitute a “holistic disgrace” to the entire local county administration.
The alleged crisis highlights severe administrative issues concerning the timely payment of staff. Authorities have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the report or the status of the outstanding salary payments.
The Superintendent, currently away on official duties, has not responded to requests for comment despite efforts to reach him.
