NPP says statements made by former VP Jewel Howard-Taylor at CDC groundbreaking does not represent the Party, reiterates that NPP has since withdrawn from the Coalition

The National Patriotic Party (NPP) has distanced itself from statements that former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor made at the recent groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new headquarters of the Congress for Democratic Chagne (CDC).

In an official release, the NPP asserted, “…Her statement does not represent the party and should be considered as her personal statement.”

The release quoted NPP’s constitution: “5.1 and 5.6 clearly states the functions and responsibilities of the chairman as the official spokesperson of the party and the SG who runs the day-to-day activities of the party.”

The release clearly reiterated that the NPP has since withdrawn its membership from the Coalition for Democratic Change and has no intention whatsoever to return to such a coalition.

The Party has therefore warned former VP Howard-Taylor to refrain from speaking in the name of NPP and stop misleading the public that the NPP will ever return to such a group of individuals who believe in self-interest.

This is a developing story.
