In a harrowing incident in Wayzohn City, Grand Bassa County, a 16-year-old boy named Little Emmanuel Bondo narrowly avoided a tragic fate after unknowingly consuming spark-and-die at a birthday party in the Puanah Town Community.
Little Emmanuel attended the party last evening, where his peers gave him a drink laced with the toxic substance, leading to a life-threatening situation.
Following the incident, Little Emmanuel’s grandmother revealed that he was taken to multiple drugstores with no success in stabilizing him. He was eventually rushed to a government health facility in Wayzohn City, where it was discovered that he had ingested spark-and-die.
Thankfully, he received the necessary treatment and is now on the road to recovery gradually.
Little Emmanuel, having faced death’s doorstep, is now urging fellow young people to be cautious and vigilant when accepting drinks at social gatherings.
This cautionary tale comes just days after the tragic deaths of two teenagers from consuming bad illicit drugs in Frank Diggs Town and a village near Ceezohn in Electoral District #4 of Grand Bassa County.
Authorities and community leaders are emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about substance dangers and promoting safe practices for youth to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
