“We are not political condoms,” JNB Tact Team Announces a Nationwide Boycott of UP December 6 Homecoming

The leadership of the JNB TACT Team has formally instructed its members across the country to boycott the upcoming Unity Party Homecoming/Fundraiser, declaring that no participation in the event is authorized on behalf of the organization.

Victor Madu Bundor, TACT Team TV Lead and one of the movement’s most outspoken figures, emphasized his total alignment with the national leadership’s position.

“We are not political condoms. I stand with the Tact Team. Period,” Bundor declared.

“I didn’t just support the Rescue Mission, I lived it. I went hungry for it. I lost things I’ll never get back for it. I gave my all for it… The Unity Party Homecoming/Fundraiser is not our event. It does not represent our values. And it does not carry our consent.”

Bundor urged all “true members” of the TACT Team to remain loyal, focused, and unified, stressing that he would neither attend nor participate in the event.

His remarks came just hours after the TACT Team’s National Leadership issued an official press statement outlining the organization’s position.

According to the press release, the TACT Team aims to “maintain and uphold the neutrality, integrity, and organizational standards” of the movement.

Leadership stressed that no member is authorized to attend the Unity Party event in an official capacity, adding that participation in any public or political program must be cleared through appropriate internal channels.

The statement also criticized the Unity Party for what it described as a pattern of “disregard and a lack of appreciation” for the TACT Team’s contributions to the current administration.

It further referenced past remarks attributed to the Minister of Finance, Hon. Augustine Kpehe Ngafua, involving the controversial phrase “political condom,” which the release said reflected dismissive treatment no Liberian should tolerate.

Members who choose to attend the event, the statement clarified, may do so only privately, and “under no circumstances should such attendance be associated with the name, mandate, or representation of the TACT Team.”

The TACT Team’s public boycott may signal deeper fractures within political alliances ahead of the upcoming political season.
