Liberian environmental professional, researcher, and student leader Josiah Varney Sando has earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Water Resources and Environmental Management from Sharda University in India, graduating with distinction after achieving a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 8.2 out of 10.
Sando’s academic achievement marks another milestone in his growing career in environmental science, with a focus on addressing critical challenges related to water management, climate change, sanitation, and sustainable development.
Before pursuing his graduate studies in India, Sando obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) in Liberia. He also holds a Professional Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management, as well as a Professional Certificate in Computer Science, demonstrating his multidisciplinary approach to environmental and technological issues.
During his time at Sharda University, Sando focused his studies on water resources management and environmental systems, areas that are increasingly important as countries around the world confront challenges related to climate change, pollution, and access to safe water.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Sando has contributed to environmental research through his involvement as a co-author of a peer-reviewed study examining solid waste management and recycling practices in rural India. The research explored challenges and opportunities in improving waste disposal systems and promoting sustainable environmental practices.
