Cestos City – The President of the Rivercess Youth League, Karl Kollors, Jr., has firmly rejected Superintendent Byron Zahnwea’s one-month deadline for the organization to conduct its long-awaited leadership elections, describing the directive as “a personal suggestion” with no binding power over the Youth League.
Kollors accused Superintendent Zahnwea of harboring personal grievances against him and urged that such frustrations should not be directed toward the Youth League as an institution. He reminded local authorities that the Youth League operates as an independent civil society organization guided strictly by its own Constitution and Bylaws—structures that place it outside the Superintendent’s control.
Kollors attributed previous election delays to the refusal of county authorities, including the Superintendent, to support young people’s earlier calls for elections when the organization lacked financial backing. He added that the 2023 general elections further slowed internal preparations, noting that the Youth League’s Constitution requires district-level elections before a county-wide vote.
He stressed that while he is committed to conducting the elections, the process cannot be forced into a one-month timeline set by the Superintendent. According to Kollors, the Youth League will proceed with elections only in line with its governing documents and not under directives from the county administration.
