Officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) on Wednesday were deployed to Private Bar in Paynesville, one day after the nightclub’s Chief Executive Officer, Leroy Harris, was arrested and charged in connection with the country’s ongoing US$317 million cocaine case.
Armed police officers were seen securing the entertainment center for several hours. Authorities have not explained the purpose of the operation or confirmed whether it was directly linked to the investigation involving Harris.
Harris is facing several charges, including alleged drug importation, drug trafficking, and money laundering, following his arrest in a case that has become one of the biggest narcotics investigations in Liberia’s history.
The investigation has continued to widen, with several suspects arrested and charged, while others have been dismissed from public office or remain under investigation as law enforcement agencies pursue new leads.
The Liberia National Police has not released an official statement on Wednesday’s operation at Private Bar.
Investigators say the case remains active, and further arrests or other law enforcement actions are possible as the probe continues.
