Authorities at the Monrovia Central Prison (MCP) on Monday, December 8, 2025, arrested two female visitors after allegedly attempting to smuggle a substance believed to be kush into the facility.
The suspects, identified as Secret Kamara, 25, of Sinkor, and Christina Robert, 19, of ELWA, Paynesville, were detained during routine security checks conducted at the prison’s main entrance.
According to MCP security personnel, the women arrived at the facility to visit inmates when officers detected the suspected narcotics concealed in their personal belongings.
The discovery was made during standard screening procedures designed to prevent the entry of contraband items, including drugs, weapons, and unauthorized materials.
Security officers immediately separated the two visitors for questioning, leading to conflicting accounts regarding how the substance ended up in their possession.
During her preliminary statement, Christina Robert claimed the suspected kush had been handed to her by her friend, Secret Kamara, before entering the facility.
Robert further stated that it was her first time visiting the prison and insisted she had no prior knowledge of the substance’s nature or purpose.
However, Secret Kamara strongly rejected Robert’s allegation, stating that she had no involvement in the matter and accusing Christina of acting independently.
Kamara also noted that Christina was visiting a different inmate and suggested that her co-suspect may be attempting to shift responsibility to avoid consequences.
Despite the conflicting stories, officers detained both women and transferred the suspected narcotics to the relevant authorities for testing and further investigation.
MCP management reported that similar attempts to smuggle drugs into the prison have occurred in the past but emphasized that routine checks continue to serve as an effective deterrent.
In an official statement, prison authorities reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a secure and drug-free environment for inmates, staff, and visitors.
“Our screening procedures are strict and will remain so,” an MCP official stated. “We cannot compromise the safety and order of the facility.”
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not yet announced whether formal charges will be filed against Kamara and Robert as authorities examine the evidence and determine responsibility.
