The Liberia National Police (LNP), Maryland County Detachment, has successfully concluded its Year-End Program and Honors Ceremony, an event dedicated to recognizing and appreciating police officers for their dedication and committed service throughout the year in Maryland County and the southeastern region of Liberia.
The ceremony, held at the Liberia National Police headquarters in Harper, Maryland County, provided a platform to honor officers who demonstrated professionalism, discipline, and sacrifice in the discharge of their duties.
Organizers emphasized that such recognition is essential to boosting morale, strengthening unity within the police force, and promoting a culture of excellence and accountability across all operational areas.
Officers from Pleebo, Harper, Karluway, and Barrobo districts participated in the event, which also served as an opportunity for interaction, reflection, and collective appreciation of the challenges and achievements recorded during the year.
The gathering reinforced teamwork and cooperation among officers from different districts — an essential component of effective law enforcement.
Speaking at the ceremony, LNP Region Five Commander J. Max Roberts described the initiative as a bold and strategic step toward strengthening the operational capacity of the Liberia National Police. He noted that recognizing officers for their hard work and dedication builds confidence, promotes fairness, and enhances professionalism within the institution.
Commander Roberts stressed that the ceremony was not only about awards, but also about renewing commitment and responsibility. He encouraged officers to remain disciplined, law-abiding, and respectful of human rights while performing their duties, adding that a motivated police force is better positioned to maintain peace, prevent crime, and build public trust.
The Year-End Program and Honors Ceremony also allowed LNP leadership to assess performance, recognize achievements, and identify areas for improvement as the force prepares for future challenges.
By honoring dedicated officers, the Liberia National Police reaffirmed its commitment to institutional growth, operational effectiveness, and national security.
The event concluded on a hopeful note, with officers expressing renewed determination to continue serving Maryland County and Liberia with professionalism, integrity, and dedication.
