“He’s Still Fighting for His Life,” the victim’s Mother said, while pleading for Justice.
The mother of a 15-year-old boy who was allegedly sodomized has broken her silence, calling for justice and urgent medical support after reports emerged that one of the key suspects, former National Security Agency of Liberia agent Peter Bonn Jallah, was released from prison for medical treatment.
Speaking emotionally from the hospital where her son is receiving care, the mother said she learned of the suspect’s alleged release through community residents while she was by her child’s bedside. According to her, the news had a devastating emotional impact on the teenager, whose health she says has deteriorated since hearing the report.
“My son was trying,” she said. “But when we heard that Peter Bonn Jallah was allegedly released for medical treatment, he broke down. Since then, his condition has become more complicated. He’s still fighting for his life.”
The mother alleges that her son suffered serious physical and psychological trauma after being assaulted by three men, including Bonn Jallah. She says the child remains in critical condition and continues to experience complications requiring close medical attention.
She also voiced frustration with state institutions, accusing the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection of neglecting the victim and criticizing the Ministry of Justice for what she described as inadequate follow-up and delays in ensuring a speedy trial, she further questioned the silence of the government as public concern over the case grows.
In her plea, the mother appealed for both justice and international medical intervention, claiming that doctors at John F. Kennedy Medical Center were considering home-based treatment for the boy despite his critical condition.
“I am begging for help,” she said. “My child needs proper treatment and justice. We cannot do this alone. They damaged my son. We keep changing his pampers. He cannot even eat any solid food. He cannot sit.”
The case has sparked public outrage, with many calling for transparency from authorities and stronger protections for victims of sexual violence. As public attention intensifies, the mother says her only wish is to see her son recover and to ensure that the legal process is carried out fairly and without delay.
For now, she remains at his side, holding onto hope while demanding answers, justice, and accountability.
