JFK Medical Center Installs Colposcope To Boost Cervical Cancer Detection

A new colposcope machine has been successfully installed at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, marking a significant step forward in the fight against cervical cancer in Liberia.

According to the Ministry of Health, the installation was followed by the completion of hands-on training for medical personnel to ensure the equipment is effectively utilized. The training equips healthcare workers with the skills needed to conduct detailed examinations and improve early diagnosis of cervical cancer.

The development comes after a similar successful installation and training session at Redemption Hospital.

Health authorities say the addition of the colposcope machine will strengthen early detection efforts, enhance reproductive health services, and support ongoing initiatives to reduce cervical cancer-related deaths among women.

The Ministry emphasized that expanding access to modern diagnostic equipment remains a key priority in improving women’s health outcomes across the country.
