Blood of Slain Priests “Will Nourish the Church,” Says Rev. Fr. Kaye

Monrovia, Liberia — A Catholic priest has spoken out following the reported killing of two fellow priests, declaring that while their lives were taken, their faith and mission will endure.

Rev. Fr. A. Ahmed Denzel Kaye said in a statement that the deaths of the two priests will not silence the Church but will instead strengthen it. His remarks have been interpreted by many as suggesting that the priests were deliberately killed.

“The way of the world is truly strange and evil,” Rev. Fr. Kaye wrote. “You can kill the priest, but not the priesthood. The blood you spill nourishes the Church.”

In the emotional message addressed to his fallen colleagues, he said their physical lives had been taken but their sacrifice would live on.

“To my faithfully departed brothers, they have annihilated your flesh, but your spirit of sacrifice lives forever,” he wrote.

Rev. Fr. Kaye added that attempts to silence the Church would ultimately fail, stating that “the silence you cause will echo louder than your bullets, weapons, or jujus.”

He concluded the tribute with a prayerful farewell: “God be with you till we meet again.”

Authorities have not yet released full details surrounding the circumstances of the priests’ deaths, and investigations are expected to continue.

The Catholic community and wider public have expressed shock and grief over the incident, with many calling for a thorough investigation to determine who was responsible.

Church leaders have urged calm while honoring the memory and service of the deceased priests. Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
