Leaked WhatsApp messages allegedly sent by South African national Ntombi Toni Khumalo to a friend have surfaced, describing claims of domestic violence and fear for her safety.
In the messages dated May 17, 2023, Khumalo wrote that she was pretending that “everything is okay” because she feared being in danger until she could leave. She alleged that she had been physically assaulted, stating that the left side of her head had been struck during an altercation.
Khumalo also claimed in the messages that she had been choked and pushed, adding that the incidents were not the first time. She further stated that the South African Embassy was aware of her situation “if anything happens to me here.”
The messages also revealed her claim that she had recently discovered she was the fourth wife of the man involved, contrary to what she had previously been told.
The authenticity of the messages and the circumstances surrounding the allegations have not yet been independently verified. No official statement has been released by the South African Embassy regarding the claims.
