Verity News Investigative Reporter Archie Boan has received a formal invitation to become a member of the Network of Investigative and Public Interest Journalists (NIPIJ), a regional platform established to strengthen investigative journalism and promote accountability across West Africa.
The invitation was extended by the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) following a review of Boan’s professional work, particularly his investigative reporting that has highlighted issues of public interest and governance.
In a communication sent by Josephine Badu-Nyarko, Programme Assistant at MFWA under the Media for Democracy and Good Governance program, the organization expressed its honor in welcoming Boan to the network.
According to the notice, the Network of Investigative and Public Interest Journalists was established under a project funded by DW Akademie to enhance collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development among journalists in the region.
MFWA noted that the network aims to provide a professional platform where investigative journalists can exchange knowledge, receive training, and strengthen their resilience in holding public institutions accountable.
Boan has been invited to participate in the official virtual launch of the network scheduled for March 17, 2026, at 9:30 GMT, where selected journalists from across West Africa will formally be introduced as members of the initiative.
The recognition underscores Boan’s growing contribution to investigative journalism in Liberia and the wider region, particularly through reporting that focuses on transparency, governance, and public accountability.
Participation in the network is expected to create opportunities for cross-border collaboration, investigative training, and stronger regional partnerships among journalists committed to public interest reporting.
