Monrovia, Liberia — The National Port Authority (NPA) has taken a major step toward strengthening public confidence and institutional credibility by hosting a reform-driven workshop for its Public Relations Department and key stakeholders.
The full-day session, held in Monrovia, brought together representatives from multiple departments—including Administration, Human Resources, Security, Legal, Technical Services, Information Technology, and Procurement — to realign the Authority’s communication strategy under the NPA RESET Strategic Plan 2025–2030.
Officials described the workshop as a turning point in shifting from routine communication practices to a performance-based system focused on transparency, accountability, and digital transformation. Participants emphasized that communication is a shared responsibility across all departments, not limited to public relations alone.
Discussions centered on three key areas: improving media relations, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and enhancing digital presence. A presentation by IT specialist Mark Roseal highlighted the NPA’s active website as a vital tool for real-time public access to information.
Leading the session, Pewee Baysah, Executive Director of Public Relations, outlined measurable targets for 2026, stressing that trust must be built through consistent performance and accountability.
Also addressing the gathering, Vashti Hanna Sirleaf, Executive Director for Human Resources, urged staff to apply the lessons learned to project a credible and unified institutional image.
The NPA RESET Strategic Plan aims to drive governance reform, operational modernization, and improved service delivery, positioning the Authority as a key engine of Liberia’s economic growth.
