The Commander of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) assigned in Foya, Lofa County, Jackson Tamba Ross, has died in Monrovia, family and immigration sources have confirmed to Verity News.

Commander Ross passed away at approximately 12:00 P.M on Friday, April 3, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Hospital on Tubman Boulevard, where he had reportedly been receiving medical attention. The cause of death has not yet been officially disclosed.

Ross, a dedicated officer of the Liberia Immigration Service, was widely known for his role in managing border security and immigration operations in Foya, a key border town in northern Liberia where territorial tensions between Liberia and Guinea have escalated in recent weeks.

His leadership in the area contributed to strengthening cross-border monitoring and maintaining national security.

According to records, the late Commander Ross was a graduate of the Ghana Third Batch, a training program that has produced several immigration officers serving across the country.

His colleagues remember him as a disciplined and committed officer who served with professionalism and integrity.
