Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) announces nationwide recruitment exercise

The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) will conduct a nationwide recruitment exercise for qualified and interested Liberian citizens from April 27 to June 27, 2026.

The recruitment exercise aligns with AFL’s constitutional mandate to recruit and train qualified and interested Liberians for active military service.

All Liberian citizens, especially females, are encouraged to take advantage of the recruitment process in order to serve their country with integrity and loyalty.

The recruitment process is voluntary and absolutely free of charge.

No recommendation will be accepted from anyone for an applicant to join the AFL.

Recommended candidates will be automatically disqualified.

The high command of the AFL assures the public that the recruitment process will be strictly based on merit.

Requirements/eligibility for applicant:

Age: 18-35 years (at the time of application)

Citizenship: Applicants must be Liberian citizens.

Education : Minimum high school graduate with WAEC/ WASSCE certificate.

Physical and medical fitness: Applicants must be physically and medically fit.

Background check: Applicants must be cleared of all human rights violations Abuses, criminal records

and have good moral character.

Required documents:

Proof of citizenship

Any of the followings:

National ID card

Birth certificate

Liberian passport

Certificate of naturalization

Two passport-size photos (white

background).

Health certificate from any

recognized health institution. This certificate must be within three months of your application.

RECRUITMENT CENTERS AND DATES

The recruitment process will take place in four (4) geographical regions in Liberia:

1. Central Region: Montserrado, Grand Bassa, and Margibi Counties.

The recruitment center will be located in Monrovia

at the Barclay Training Center (BTC).

Date : (27 April – 15 May 2026).

2. Western Region: Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, and Gbarpolu Counties.

The recruitment center is in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.

Date : (18 – 29 May 2026).

3. Northern Region: Lofa, Bong and Nimba Counties. The recruitment will be held in Gbarnga, Bong County.

Date : (1 – 12 June 2026).

4. South-Eastern Region : Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Maryland, Grand Kru, Rivercess, and Sinoe Counties.

The recruitment Centers will be in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County

and Harper, Maryland County.

Date : Zwedru: (15 – 20 June 2026)

Harper: (22 – 27 June 2026)
