The Bong University Students Union (BUSU) has commended Liberian activist in exile, Martin K. N. Kollie, for his continued support in promoting student empowerment through scholarship and technical training opportunities.
In an official statement, the student body expressed deep appreciation for what it described as a significant contribution to education and skills development among its members.
“The Bong University Students Union (BUSU) extends its profound appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Martin K. N. Kollie for his continuous commitment to empowering young Liberians through education and technical skill development,” the statement read.
The union highlighted its participation in the 4Life ZOE Technical Training Program, which provides practical, hands-on skills training for selected students under the scholarship initiative.
According to BUSU, three students were initially enrolled in the program; however, one was unable to complete the training due to personal circumstances.
The remaining two students are expected to graduate successfully in the coming weeks. They are Grace Kpuayee, who studied air conditioning and refrigeration installation, and Eric Wright, who specialized in satellite installation.
BUSU described the opportunity as transformative, noting that it equips beneficiaries with marketable, employable skills that can contribute meaningfully to national development.
“We are particularly grateful for the opportunity extended to our Union through the scholarship support provided under the 4Life ZOE Technical Training Program,” the statement added.
The graduation ceremony for the trainees is scheduled for May 23, 2026, at the Monrovia Christian Fellowship Church in Sinkor, Montserrado County.
Student leaders emphasized that the initiative underscores the importance of partnerships between civil society actors and educational institutions in tackling youth unemployment.
The union reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with stakeholders who support education and youth empowerment.
“Your contribution continues to create meaningful impact in the lives of our students and strengthens our shared vision for national development,” the statement concluded.
