An influential figure from Grand Bassa County in Electoral District #4, Mr. Fitzgerald D. Harmon, has announced his intention to file a lawsuit against the Liberian Electricity Corporation (LEC) due to alleged damages to citizens’ goods caused by recent power outages.
Mr. Harmon, a respected opinion leader in the district, stated that the ongoing outages have led to significant losses for the local business community, with goods being damaged beyond repair. He expressed frustration with the situation and stressed the need for action against LEC management.
As the chairman of the Bassa Sports Association, Mr. Harmon has given the regional LEC staff a one-week deadline to address the issues causing the outages in Bassa, particularly in Wayzohn City. He warned that if no satisfactory response is provided within the given timeframe, legal action will be pursued.
In response to Mr. Harmon’s lawsuit threat, citizens of the district have shown support for his decision, pledging moral and financial assistance in the pursuit of justice against LEC. The community stands behind Mr. Harmon in seeking accountability for the damages caused by the electricity outages.
