Dukuly Sponsors 220 Students for University of Liberia Entrance Exam

By Emmanuel M. Kangar, Jr.

Monrovia, Liberia — A group operating under the banner “Friends of Sekou” has announced that Sekou Hussein Dukuly, Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA), has funded the participation of 220 young Liberians in the upcoming University of Liberia entrance examination.

According to the group, the initiative is aimed at reducing financial barriers that often prevent qualified students from pursuing higher education.
The sponsorship covers examination fees for students who might otherwise be unable to afford the opportunity.

Education advocates say such interventions can have a lasting impact, particularly in a country where access to higher education remains a challenge for many families. For the beneficiaries, the support could mark a critical step toward academic and professional advancement.

Friends of Sekou described the gesture as a demonstration of Dukuly’s commitment to youth empowerment and national development. The group emphasized that investing in education contributes directly to the country’s long-term growth and stability.

“This effort highlights the importance of leadership that prioritizes people and opportunity,” the statement noted, calling on other individuals and institutions to support similar initiatives.

The University of Liberia entrance examination is a key requirement for admission into the country’s flagship public university, making sponsorship programs such as this particularly significant for aspiring students across Liberia.
