As the 2029 elections draw closer, potential senatorial candidates appear to be in a rush to gain political traction and public recognition.
Former Senator, now Buchanan Port Manager Jonathan Kaipay, claimed that he provided the land for the CLSG/TRANSCO substation to be built. However, the Executive Director of the Rural and Renewable Energy Agency Samuel Nagbe has disputed his claim.
“I provided the land for Buchanan’s power distribution site to be built.” Hon. Jonathan Kaipay, Manager, Buchanan Port
“This information is not correct. If this story is referencing the GIS building being constructed opposite the CLSG/TRANSCO substation, then we can confirm that the Rural and Renewable Energy Agency paid in full, an amount of US$14K for the property. We have our receipts and our deed.” Hon. Samuel Nagbe, Executive Director, Rural Renewable Energy Agency (RREA)
