NAIROBI — Kenyan President William Ruto on Monday hosted Liberian President Joseph Boakai at State House Nairobi for high-level talks focused on strengthening cooperation between the two nations ahead of the upcoming Africa Forward Summit.
The two leaders held what both sides described as warm and productive discussions, centered on expanding bilateral relations in key sectors including trade, agriculture, education, and technology. The talks aimed at identifying new pathways to enhance economic collaboration and create opportunities for citizens in both countries.
According to a statement from the Kenyan presidency, the leaders also reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing continental priorities such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), regional peace and security, and coordinated climate action for sustainable development across Africa.
President Ruto further used the meeting to request President Boakai to consider the candidature of Kenyan Supreme Court Judge Njoki Ndungu for a position at the International Criminal Court, underscoring Kenya’s support for her potential international appointment.
The discussions come as African leaders prepare for the Africa Forward Summit, scheduled for Monday, where cooperation on economic integration and development strategies is expected to take center stage.
