A commendable and historic step has been taken by the Ministry in increasing the salaries of Resident Engineers across the fifteen counties of Liberia from a mere US$250 to US$1,000.
This bold and timely decision demonstrates a strong commitment to valuing professionalism, technical expertise, and the critical role engineers play in national development. For far too long, many dedicated Resident Engineers continued to serve the country under difficult conditions with limited motivation and inadequate compensation. Today, that narrative is changing.
Special appreciation goes to His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr for supporting initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of Liberian professionals and strengthening national institutions. Commendation also goes to the Minister proper, Mr. R Layfette Giddings for the leadership demonstrated in advancing this important reform, as well as Deputy Minister for Technical Services, Mr. D Prince Tambah , whose advocacy, technical vision, and commitment helped power this transformative initiative.
Recognition is equally extended to the Ministry of Finance & Development Planning and the Honorable Finance Minister, Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan II for supporting and prioritizing this adjustment as part of government’s commitment to public sector effectiveness and national development.
This increase is more than just a salary adjustment, it is an investment in quality infrastructure, accountability, professionalism, and national progress. Motivated engineers will undoubtedly contribute more effectively to the supervision, implementation, and delivery of development projects across Liberia.
We hope this positive action will continue to inspire broader reforms aimed at empowering skilled professionals who are helping to build the future of our nation.
Congratulations to all Resident Engineers across the 15 counties of Liberia. Your hard work, sacrifice, and dedication are finally being recognized.
