By Hogkins Tokpah and Emmanuel Kangar, jr

Bishop David Johnson, a former Aladura Church Prelate and the Founder of the House of Prayer Ministries in Cotton-tree, Lower Margibi County, has made headlines with his recent assertion that Jesus promised to send him an angel as his wedded wife on earth.

In an exclusive interview, Bishop Johnson explained that this promise was made after he vowed to Jesus never to marry an earthly woman. He expressed his desire for a wife who would have less focus on earthly desires, particularly in the area of sexuality, and more on the spiritual work that he believes God has called him to do.

According to Bishop Johnson, he has encountered challenges with relationships in the past as he feels that intimate relationships have interfered with his spiritual calling. In response to this, he sought a union with an angel, promised to him by Jesus through a face-to-face interaction.

When asked about the logistics of this unique marriage, Bishop Johnson outlined that Jesus and the Angel would descend from heaven, call him three times, present the angel as his wife, and then ascend back to heaven. This miraculous event is projected to take place next year in 2027, following the completion of the new House of Prayer Ministries building and his residence.

While Bishop Johnson’s claim has generated curiosity and intrigue within the community and beyond, it has also sparked skepticism and debate. The concept of a human marrying an angel challenges traditional beliefs and raises questions about the interpretation of divine promises and supernatural occurrences.

As the House of Prayer Ministries prepares for this anticipated event, the community in Lower Margibi County, some have viewed it as a testament to the power of faith and the mysteries of the divine, while others question the validity of such an arrangement.

Regardless of the controversy surrounding Bishop Johnson’s statement, it has ignited discussions about faith, spirituality, and the boundaries between the earthly and heavenly realms. The House of Prayer Ministries anticipates the unfolding of this extraordinary event and waits to see whether the promised visit from Jesus and the angel will come to fruition.
