C.B. Dunbar Hospital Receives Lifesaving Medical Equipment from Health Ministry

GBARNGA, Bong County – C.B. Dunbar Comprehensive Hospital in Gbarnga has received essential medical equipment from the Ministry of Health, a move expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery, particularly in maternal and surgical services.

The equipment was presented to the hospital on Wednesday as part of a nationwide distribution initiative supported by the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC). The donation followed LPRC’s recent contribution to the Ministry of Health aimed at strengthening surgical, maternal, and emergency healthcare services across the country.

Nationally, the donation includes six anesthesia machines, six patient monitors, and 100 delivery beds for referral hospitals, county hospitals, and health centers. Under the distribution program, C.B. Dunbar Comprehensive Hospital received three delivery beds and one anesthesia machine.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the hospital, Administrator Enoch Kermue Darwolo Morris Sr. expressed gratitude to Health Minister Dr. Louise Mapleh Kpoto, the leadership of LPRC, and Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer for the support.

Mr. Morris described the donation as timely, noting that the equipment will help address critical healthcare needs and improve services for mothers, newborns, and surgical patients.

“The donation will ease some of the challenges faced by the hospital and enhance the quality of care provided to the thousands of people who depend on this facility,” he said.

He added that the equipment brings relief not only to the hospital administration but also to patients who rely on C.B. Dunbar Comprehensive Hospital for quality healthcare services.
