BARZEEGIAH, Grand Bassa County – Health authorities in Grand Bassa County are investigating a series of mysterious nighttime incidents in which unidentified individuals have allegedly attempted to forcibly enter the delivery rooms of the Barzeegiah Clinic, raising serious security concerns among healthcare workers and residents.
According to District Health Officer for Health Districts #3A and #3B, Alexander M. Joe, the incidents have occurred during the night and early morning hours, leaving clinic staff fearful as they continue to provide essential medical services.
Mr. Joe said he has been informed of the repeated attempted break-ins and has since reported the matter to the district superintendent for urgent intervention.
The clinic is located a short distance from Barzeegiah, a community that has previously drawn public attention over alleged ritualistic activities. Although authorities have not established any connection between those past allegations and the current incidents, the attempted intrusions have heightened anxiety among healthcare workers.
The Barzeegiah Clinic currently has only one unarmed security guard, who has reportedly been unable to adequately prevent the repeated attempts to gain unauthorized access to the maternity section.
In response, Mr. Joe has appealed to local authorities and community leaders to strengthen security at the facility in order to protect health workers, expectant mothers, newborns, and other patients receiving care.
He assured the public that the Health District is working with local authorities to address the situation and prevent any further disruptions to healthcare services.
Authorities have not announced any arrests, and the identities and motives of those behind the attempted break-ins remain unknown as investigations continue.
