Boakai Declares Zero Tolerance for Drug Trafficking, Vows No One Will Be Spared

MONROVIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has reaffirmed his administration’s zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and substance abuse, declaring that anyone linked to narcotics crimes will face justice regardless of their status or position.

Speaking during a Cabinet meeting organized by the Office of the Cabinet and attended by officials from the Ministry of Health and the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency, President Boakai described the fight against drugs as one of his government’s highest national priorities.

The President recalled that at the start of his administration, he and Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung publicly underwent drug tests to demonstrate leadership by example and underscore the government’s commitment to tackling drug abuse.

Referring to the recent seizure of narcotics valued at US$19 million, Boakai vowed that authorities would pursue everyone connected to the case.

“No matter who is involved or what position they hold, nobody will be spared,” the President declared.

He urged Cabinet members to strengthen coordination among government institutions and intensify efforts to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse nationwide.

President Boakai emphasized that winning the fight against illegal drugs requires collective action, firm political will, and sustained commitment to protecting Liberia, especially its young people, from the harmful effects of narcotics.
