”Only God Made Me Senator”, Sen. Kogar Tells Nimbanians

By Jeremiah B. Gayflor II

NIMBA COUNTY – Nimba County Senator Samuel G. Kogar has dismissed claims that his victory in the 2025 Nimba County senatorial by-election was solely due to the support of Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, describing such assertions as an insult to his personality and political standing.

Speaking at a major press conference in Nimba County this week, Senator Kogar said no individual should take credit for his election, insisting that his victory was made possible only by the grace of God.

“I see it as an insult when people say I became senator because of someone else’s support,” Kogar said. “The only one who deserves the glory for my election is God Almighty.”

The senator also urged young people in the county to refrain from allowing themselves to be used by politicians to attack or insult other leaders through radio talk shows and social media platforms.

According to him, such actions undermine unity and distract from the county’s development agenda. He called on Nimbanians, particularly the youth, to promote respectful political discourse and focus on issues that advance peace and progress in the county.

Senator Kogar was elected during the 2025 senatorial by-election following the death of Nimba County political Godfather Prince Johnson.
