CESTOS CITY, Rivercess County – The 14th Judicial Circuit Court in Rivercess County has sentenced two men to three years imprisonment each after they pleaded guilty to charges related to the transportation, possession, and trafficking of illegal drugs.
The convicts, Teah Toe, 54, and Anthony Kollie, 45, were each found guilty of Unlicensed Transportation, Unlicensed Possession, and Illicit Trafficking of Illicit Drugs following separate proceedings before the court.
According to court records, both men were arrested on February 17, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m. by officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) at the Boegeezay Checkpoint in Monweh District, Rivercess County. The suspects were intercepted while traveling from Nimba County to Rivercess County.
Authorities said each defendant was found transporting marijuana valued at approximately LRD$300,000, leading to their arrest and subsequent indictment during the February Term of Court 2026.
The prosecution, led by Rivercess County Attorney Cllr. Martin M. Tumoe, presented the case before the 14th Judicial Circuit Court.
During the court proceedings, the indictment was read openly, after which both defendants entered guilty pleas, admitting to the charges brought against them.
Following their guilty pleas, the court separately sentenced Teah Toe and Anthony Kollie to three years imprisonment each, bringing the prosecution to a close.
The conviction is viewed as part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement authorities and the judiciary to combat the trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs in Rivercess County and across Liberia.
