Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue once declared that a day would come when people could travel to Grand Gedeh dressed in white without worrying about mud stains, a bold promise that sharply contrasted with the terrible road conditions inherited from the previous administration.
Today, that statement has become a reality. Dressed entirely in white, Senator Pennue made a stop at the famous Kpelleh Village along the Toe Town–Kpelleh section of the Nimba Grand Gedeh highway, a route once infamous for deep mud, impassable stretches, and a place where travelers relied on rain boots just to make the journey.
Now, under the Unity Party Administration, the same road has become passable. Travelers can confidently wear white clothes and ordinary slippers instead of rain boots, reflecting the remarkable transformation of one of southeastern Liberia’s most challenging road corridors.
What was once dismissed by many as a political promise now stands as visible evidence of progress on the ground.
