Grand Gedeh County – Grand Gedeh County Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue has claimed that residents of the county were forced to consume spoiled frozen food during the administration of former President George Weah due to poor road conditions.
According to Senator Pennue, frozen food products, including fish, chicken wings, and chicken feet, often spoiled before reaching Zwedru because of the deplorable state of the roads.
“When George Weah was in power, our people ate rotten frozen food in Zwedru. Their fish, chicken wings, and chicken feet would spoil for days due to the bad road condition,” the senator said.
Pennue’s remarks come amid ongoing public discussions about road infrastructure and access to essential goods in southeastern Liberia. Poor road conditions have long been cited as a major challenge affecting transportation, trade, and the delivery of basic commodities to the region.
