MONROVIA – Executive Protection Service (EPS) Director Col. Sam Gaye has alleged that former state actors provided sanctuary to and protected drug trafficking organizations operating in Liberia from 2021 onward.
In a public statement, Gaye said authorities are “closing in” on both state and non-state actors accused of facilitating and protecting drug trafficking networks. He claimed the organizations could not have established operations in Liberia without the acquiescence of “some significant former state actors.”
The EPS Director emphasized that ongoing investigations would spare no one, declaring, “No sacred cows.”
Gaye’s comments come amid intensified government efforts to combat narcotics trafficking and hold accountable individuals allegedly linked to the illicit drug trade.
He did not identify the former officials under investigation or provide evidence to support the allegations but urged the public to “stay tuned” as the investigation progresses.
