CESTOS CITY, Rivercess County – The Rivercess County Detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has formally charged and forwarded to court a 23-year-old woman, Fatu Goffa, for her alleged involvement in illegal drug trafficking.
According to the LDEA, Goffa, a resident of Tito Village in Rivercess County, was arrested on July 31, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the Nimba Junction checkpoint while reportedly traveling back to her village.
Authorities said she was found in possession of 19 strips of Tramadol and one compressed plate of marijuana.
The LDEA estimated the street value of the seized Tramadol at L$58,000 (approximately US$319), while the marijuana was valued at L$19,000 (approximately US$100).
Following the investigation, Goffa was charged with Unlicensed Possession of Controlled Drugs under Section 14.89, Illicit Trafficking under Section 14.93, and Dispatching in Transit under Section 14.85 of Liberia’s drug law.
The suspect has since been forwarded to court, where she is expected to face prosecution in accordance with the law.
