“We Only Got Paid When Customers Bought”: Former Workers Make Serious Allegations Against Passion Entertainment Center

A good number of workers resigned while accusing Passion Entertainment Center of bad labor practices.

A Verity Newspaper investigation has uncovered allegations of poor labor practices at the beach segment of Passion Entertainment Center, where several former employees claim they endured irregular salary payments, arbitrary wage cuts, and informal employment arrangements before deciding to resign.

The investigation found that many former workers left the entertainment venue due to what they described as management’s failure to establish a reliable payroll system and provide fair employment conditions.

Speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of possible retaliation, one former employee alleged that workers were recruited without formal employment contracts or established hiring procedures, leaving many at the mercy of management’s discretion regarding wages and payment schedules.

“There was never a specific payday,” the former employee claimed. “We were paid when customers bought.

If business was good on a particular day, management might call one worker and give that person only part of their salary. Sometimes you could wait for weeks without receiving your full pay.”

According to the source, salaries were reportedly paid directly by the manager instead of through a structured payroll system, making payments inconsistent and unpredictable.

The investigation also revealed allegations that management abruptly reduced employees’ salaries without consultation or written notice.

Former workers alleged that employees who had been earning US$60 per month later saw their wages cut to US$30 per month, while continuing to work extended shifts every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

According to the anonymous source, management attributed the decision to financial pressure arising from another project reportedly being undertaken by the institution’s Chief Executive Officer.

“The explanation was that the CEO was investing in another project and the burden had become too much, so our salaries had to be reduced,” the former employee alleged.

Several former workers interviewed during the investigation described the wage reduction as the final straw that prompted many employees to leave the institution.

Beyond the salary concerns, former employees also questioned the absence of written employment agreements, defined payment dates, and transparent labor policies, arguing that the practices left workers without adequate protection or certainty regarding their earnings.

Despite the allegations, Passion Entertainment Center is currently recruiting new workers for its operations.

In keeping with the principles of fairness and balanced reporting, Verity Newspaper made several attempts to obtain the institution’s response before publication. The newspaper first contacted Passion Entertainment Center through its official social media platform, where a controller indicated that the matter was outside his jurisdiction.

Repeated telephone calls were also placed to the beach manager, identified as Rachel. When she eventually responded, she requested that Verity Newspaper disclose the identity of its source. The newspaper declined, citing its ethical obligation to protect confidential sources. Following the newspaper’s refusal to reveal the source’s identity, Rachel denied the allegations made by the former employees.
