Monrovia – Alternative National Congress (ANC) Political Leader Alexander B. Cummings has asserted that Liberia would not be experiencing its current drug crisis if he were president.
Speaking on the Closing Argument talk show, Cummings said the country would have taken a different path under his leadership, declaring, “If I were President of Liberia, Liberia would not have had this drug situation now.”
The ANC leader also revisited the outcome of the 2023 presidential election, describing the often-cited “1% result” as “nonsense.” He said he had the opportunity to challenge the election outcome but chose not to do so.
Reflecting on the country’s political journey, Cummings added, “You can learn from the past, but you can’t change the past.”
His comments come amid heightened national debate over drug trafficking, governance, and preparations for Liberia’s next electoral cycle, with opposition leaders increasingly weighing in on key national issues.
