CDC Political Woes Deepen: Senior Executive Member and former Superintendent Resigns

By Garreyson Neufville

A Senior Executive Member of the Opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), who served as Superintendent of Maryland County during the Weah-led administration, has officially RESIGNED.

Hon. George A. Prowd has tendered his resignation both as an executive member and a member of the party.

Prowd said in a letter dated August 5, 2026: “I hereby tendered my resignation as an executive member of our party and at the same time withdraw my membership. My reason is political and its details will be expressed someday.”

Prowd is resigning just two days after CDC Grand Gedeh County Youth Chairman also resigned. Ahead of 2029 general and presidential elections, influential partisans of CDC continue to politically defect.
