Monrovia – Nimba County Senator Samuel Kogar has declared himself the new “Godfather of Nimba,” a title widely associated with the late former Nimba County Senator Prince Yormie Johnson, who was regarded as the county’s political kingmaker.
Speaking during an appearance on OK FM, Senator Kogar said he is open to accepting a future vice presidential nomination but stressed that he would not make such a decision unilaterally.
According to the senator, any offer to serve as a vice presidential candidate would first require consultations with the people of Nimba County and Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung before he reaches a final decision.
Kogar’s remarks come months after the death of Prince Johnson, whose influence earned him the reputation as Nimba’s political “Godfather.” The senator’s comments are expected to spark political debate as discussions surrounding Liberia’s future political landscape continue.
