According to River Gee County Police Commander ACP. Theophilus Toe Togba, the confrontation erupted late Tuesday night in Gbeapo-Kanweaken and involved motorcyclists from Fish Town and Gbeapo-Kanweaken.
The incident reportedly left several riders injured as tensions between the two groups escalated.
Commander Togba said the Joint Security moved in to restore calm, resulting in the arrest of multiple motorcyclists and the seizure of nine motorcycles.
He said an investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the confrontation and determine those responsible for the violence.
Security authorities are also continuing efforts to identify and apprehend additional suspects as tensions remain high in the area.
Meanwhile, River Gee County authorities, under the leadership of Superintendent Mike T. Swengbe, have called on the motorcycle-riding community and residents to remain calm and avoid actions that could further escalate the situation.
