“UNITY PARTY WE ARE CALLING YOUR DIVERSIONARY BLUFF
At this point in the drug debacle, we publicly draw the attention of the U.S. Government, the European Union and ECOWAS who are supinely watching as the shameless Government of President Joseph Boakai destroy the foundation of Liberian law. Today’s action against the former Vice President is yet another confirmation that Liberia has ultimately returned to its darkest past.
We cannot sit as Americans and Europeans indulge the Unity Party’s weaponization of political power against members of the Liberian opposition, in an attempt to undermine the viability of our post conflict democracy. How can the Government charge the former Vice President while compromised members of the national security architecture and some members of the First Family roam about freely? Where are the U.S. DEA officials in country who see all the evidence but are yet to apply the pressure in the Government? This is selective justice that should meet the strongest outrage of our partners. But so far all we see is “ diplomacy “ that is emboldening the Boakai-Koung tyranny !
To the CDC and members of the opposition, we cannot depend on the Americans and Europeans to fight for the opposition . As opposition we have to do the fighting ourselves . The UP is deliberate, intransigent and recalcitrant in its weaponization of power as a means toward retaining power. We have so far been miserable as a collective opposition. But that buck stops here!
The National Chairman of the CDC has been mandated to convene all partisans, leaders, CDC legislators , grassroots zonal leaders, youth and women leagues, party auxiliaries and all other structures to a meeting aimed at checking Liberia’s slide into lawless arbitrariness under this Reckless Mission.
The UP believes it can never win the CDC in a democratic election and is now aiming to “ destroy “ the CDC through subterfuges such as framing CDC officials into their UP’s drug morass. The refrain in their circle is “ if we UP are going down, let CDC go down with us.” This is a decided diabolical strategy that must be resisted.
We cannot wait for 2029. 2029 is NOW!!
