Monrovia, Liberia — The Vanguard Student Unification Party (SUP) has appointed Cde. Hawa J. Mayanti as Chairperson of its 56th Anniversary Committee as the party prepares to commemorate SUP@56.
The appointment was announced Sunday, August 30, 2026, by SUP Secretary-General Cde. David Howard Jr., and approved by Chairman Cde. Odecious Mulbah.
Mayanti will lead the committee responsible for organizing activities marking the party’s 56th anniversary, which SUP says will be more than a ceremonial celebration.
The party says SUP@56 will provide an opportunity to reflect on its 56-year history of political activism, student leadership and Pan-African advocacy, while strengthening political education and renewing its commitment to the struggles of students, workers and marginalized communities.
SUP described the anniversary as a significant milestone and called for the commemoration to serve as a platform for reflection, ideological renewal and preparation for future challenges.
The party expressed confidence in Mayanti and her committee to organize a meaningful 56th anniversary celebration.
