The National Elections Commission of Liberia (NEC) is set to officially launch its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, outlining a five-year roadmap to strengthen the country’s electoral processes and promote credible, transparent, inclusive, and sustainable elections.
The launch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the JMF Hall, NEC Headquarters, 9th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia.
According to the Commission, the Strategic Plan will guide its vision, priorities, and interventions over the next five years, with emphasis on improving electoral administration, institutional effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, public confidence, and the overall integrity of Liberia’s electoral process.
The plan was developed with support from the UNDP Liberia Electoral Support Project (LESP) through funding from the European Union, the Embassy of Sweden in Monrovia, and Ireland.
The NEC said the Strategic Plan reflects its commitment to the principles of integrity, transparency, inclusion, impartiality, professionalism, confidentiality, and independence.
It is also intended to provide a framework for strengthening the Commission’s institutional capacity while ensuring that electoral processes remain responsive, accessible, credible, and trusted by citizens and stakeholders.
The official launch is expected to bring together representatives of the Government of Liberia, development partners, political parties, civil society organizations, the media, and other electoral stakeholders.
