At least 41 members of the House of Representatives are gathered in a strategic meeting aimed at potentially signing a 12-count resolution to allegedly remove Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon and Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah, Verity News has learned and obtained the list of “coup plotters.”
The lawmakers accused Koon and Fallah of financial misconduct and administrative irregularities.
Speaking to Verity News on condition of anonymity, one of the participating lawmakers said the two officials “have to go.”
“Enough is enough. They have duped us of millions of dollars. We need accountability for all those monies, including our benefits, which reflect in the budget as received and expended. We have not received anything. This is corruption,” the lawmaker said.
The representative said the group, which is dubbed and styled Reformist Bloc, is tired of what he described as “swallowing the bitter pills in the midst of corruption and administrative malpractices.”
According to the lawmaker, the group numbers 54 in total, although about 40 are in full attendance at the meeting.
“A decision will be taken soon,” the lawmaker told Verity News.
In previous leaked Whatsapp messages which this paper also published, Representative Anthony Williams of Maryland County also said, “We will not allow ourselves to be used like condom, discarded after serving someone’s purpose.”
Efforts to get a response from Koon and Fallah didn’t materialize up to the time of publication.
