NHA Workers Threaten Go-Slow, Demand Probe of MD Florence Geegbae over Alleged Corruption and Admnistrative Malpractices

Aggrieved employees of the National Housing Authority (NHA) are threatening renewed go-slow action, demanding an independent investigation into alleged corruption, administrative malpractices, misconduct, and intimidation under Managing Director Florence K. Geegbae.

In a press release, the employees said their July 13 resolution, endorsed and signed by 79 of the Authority’s 110 workers, remains unresolved despite written communications and appeals to relevant authorities.

The workers raised concerns about alleged nepotism, conflicts of interest, procurement fraud, misuse of project funds, and the mismanagement of NHA-owned land. They are calling on President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and accountability institutions, including the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), General Auditing Commission (GAC), and Internal Audit Agency (IAA), to investigate the allegations.

They also accused management of intimidating employees and questioned the authenticity of a counter-resolution allegedly presented as evidence of staff support for Geegbae.

Additionally, the workers are demanding access to a Civil Service Agency (CSA) credential verification report, which they say has not been presented to the general staff despite previous discussions.

The employees warned that they would continue their go-slow action until their grievances receive adequate attention, urging authorities to ensure transparency, accountability, and protection against retaliation.
